OUR HELPER (Hebrews 13:6)
>One thing God is to us is our Helper. Severally, God promised and described Himself as our Helper (Deut.33: 26; Ps 46:1; Isa. 41:10-14; Hos 13:8). God helps us at all moments, especially when we cannot help ourselves. He also delegates men, angels and the Holy Spirit to help us at critical times.
- God’s help is ADEQUATE because it is divine, almighty help – “The Lord is my helper.”” His name is El-Shaddai (Gen 17:1), which means that He is “”the Enough God””.
- God’s help is always AVAILABLE because the Lord who doesn’t’ change is always with us – “The Lord is my helper.” Heb 13:8; Ps 46:1.
Genesis 49:1-7 when his father wanted to die, he placed a curse on him – he said, he will become scattered. But somehow, in Numbers 3:5-13, the one that the father said, he will be scattered, the Almighty God said no, I want him near me.
Psalm 121:1-2 – I will lift up eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help.
GOD USES VARIOUS MEDIUMS FOR OUR HELP
- Humans - 1 Chron 12:16-18 Amasai for David; Rom 16:3 Priscilla and Aquila for Paul. NOTE: God’s human helpers are servants of God and not lords of the people 2 Cor 1:24
- Angels – Dan.10:12-13 Daniel in Babylon against the prince of Persia. Act 12:6-11 Peter set free from prison. Lk 1:19,21 Gabriel sent to Zacharias and Mary. NOTE: Rev.19:10; 22:9, we do worship angles but GOD alone.
- Even Ravens 1 King 17:4-7 which momentarily fed Elijah NOTE: Jer. 32:17,27
- ABOVE ALL, THE HOLY GHOST Act 1:4-8
