Holding a form of Righteousness (Religion)

 

2 Tim 3:5 Having a form of Godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The Power of Godliness seems to have been lost in these times due to a mistaken adherence to denominational doctrine. It seems to me that the way Christ is portrayed today is through a system of "Doctrines" that deny the truth of the power of salvation through Jesus Christ. The doctrine of "imputed righteousness" as taught in the modern church seems to teach this: Christ died to cover you with his blood so that the Father will not see you but Christ and so you are covered and it does not matter what you see or do because God hates sin and as you are sinful he cannot bear to see you, because he hates sin. So if he sees Christ and not you, he will pass by your filth and unrighteousness pretending not to see it. Like a game of hide and seek. And all you need to do to get this free pass is to get your name in the church register and make financial contributions to the church yet no repentance and conversion. This is the heretic situation of the church today, mere forms without the power of godliness.

To have a form of Godliness is to be all religious, to keep the commandments and to do the things that the denominational “church doctrine” requires. Remember it says a form of Godliness, not a form of paganism! Those caught up in this are using the scriptures as their authority, they are just misapplying it, they attend churches yet are not saved from their sins, in “Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” These are religious politician and professional religious leaders that are demagogic in their religious rites but serveth a God that know nothing about his holiness. Paul advise us to “turn away” and run away from them and have no fellowship with them. Do not go to hell with the people who are not ready for HEAVEN.

Most people I religion today have a form of godliness but they live as if God does noting supernatural. They live as if God can do nothing outside of the effort of msn. Their God is no God at all. There are many who call themselves Christians that display by their faithlessness that they are really Christian atheists. These phony “Christians” display a form of Godliness but they deny His power. “Rom 10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.”

In 2 Peter 2:1 The Bible warns that there will be false prophets who shall secretly bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them. These last days will be characterized with men and women who will be professing Christianity but in work they are reprobate, pretenders and hypocrites, people will be ritualistic in their religious observances without eternity in view. 2 Tim 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

A form of righteousness (religion) is a manifestation of human nature characterized by fleshy desires. Gal 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatory, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations; wrath, strife, seditions, heresies 21 Envying, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things sha; not inherit the kingdom of God.

However a life propelled by the power of Christ is manifested by the renewal of our natural inclinations by the spirit of God. Gal 5:22-25 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24: And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25: If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit.

In Prov. 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Prov. 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Twice in this book of Proverb, the Bible says a form of righteousness (religion) you are currently practicing might seem convenient, comfortable and prestigious but the end will be eternal dead in hell fire, why will you die when you can repent today, please hearken to the word of Jesus Christ-

“Luke 13:3, 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

Repent Now:

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out. 

“Num 10:29....We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.”
