Join this Chariot
The Holy Spirit, the Advocate, had Come upon early Church (Christians) and they were inspired to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is drive and determination in their actions and what makes this all the more remarkable is that they did this even when it put them at great risk, in the case of Stephen, it cost him his life. In the light of this persecution, Philip decides to leave Jerusalem and head north to Samaria Jesus Christ to the gentiles.
Again the Spirit directs Philip to join himself to this Chariot, he simply obeyed. In fact he runs up to the chariot and as he gets closer he hears the man reading the Bible the book of Prophet Isaiah.
The Spirit of God is beckoning on you to do as Philip did, Join yourself to this Chariot (Soul Winning), calling us to get up and go..to love not only in word or speech but in truth and action; calling us to care for the hungry and homeless; calling us to get up and go... who knows where? It may be across the country. It may be somewhere in our great state. It may be across town. It may even be just across the room. Get up and go... the Lord wiull be with you.
And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And he arose and went: and behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, was returning and sitting in his chariot reading Esaias the prophet. Then the Spirit said unto Philip, go near, and join thyself to this chariot. (Acts 8:25-29)
Philip was an ordinary Christian, infact a mere servant, attending to the needs of the widows. All God requires of you is to be born again and be assured of your salvation genuinely.
Philip was led by the Spirit to intrude, to interrupt the man in his reading and to ask if he understood. Therefore be bold, confident and compassionate, but in Jesus name, be sensitive to the voice of the Spirit. For the Lord will use us as He used Philip, all He wants is simple, trusting obedience. If you say you are born again yet not a soul winner, you are a liar and a doomed fool. Repent now and join yourself to this chariot. Prov 11:30-31 “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. 31 Behold, the righteousness shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.”
“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” Daniel 12:3.
